Neosporin or generic
sassy in az -
A few years back I took my son to the dr for pink eye and he told me to buy the clear nesporin not the creme, he said there was something in the creme you didn't want in your eyes, and steer clear from the pain relief kind too. Just the original neosporin. Without touching the infected area to the opening of the tube apply 3 times a day to your eye by going from corner to corner across the eye, blink until vision is clear and if you have a lot of discharge rinse before applying the neosporin with a eye wash or visine. He also suggested you continue using the treatment for a few days after the symptoms are gone. To help ease pain and to remove dried puss warm wet washcloth rest it on your eye until cools

Tea Water
Amelia in Austin, TX USA -
Soak a regular Lipton tea bag in hot water. Strain the bag and use your hand to wash the affected eye with the tea water. Try to let the water get into your eye and wash around your eye. Do this about 2-3 times per day, and it should resolve in a couple of days.

Instant Results With Fresh Lime
Andy Tous in Ft. Lauderdale, FL -
I learned this cure from my parents, it has been used by my family for many generations and the results are almost instant.
BE AWARE: This remedy really stings has to be done carefully:
1st: Wash your hands thoroughly and several times a day with antibacterial soap and warm water for about 20 seconds. (Make sure you clean everything you touch that are commonly used by other family members with antibacterial wipes like Lysol or Clorox (for example; door knobs, counter top, computer mouse and keyboard, bathroom faucets, toilet, etc..)
2nd: Carefully wash your face and affected area with antibacterial soap and rinse thoroughly. Make sure you don't get soap inside the eyes as it will hurt badly with no productive results.
3rd: Cut a fresh, lime (green lemon) in half, CLOSE the affected EYE and gently use one half of the lime to wash the outside area. You will feel some itching (this is good as it means it's working).
Note: while the affected area is still moist with lime juice, you might want to try opening your eye so you can get a preview of the sting you will experience in the next step and get yourself mentally ready. Once done, discard the used half of the lime.
4th: If you feel like continuing with the remedy, then keep warm water running and gently wash lime juice from the affected area. Gently dry with soft towel. Leave warm water running.
5th: Rub the unused half of the lime (the inside part) with a Q-tip so the cotton gets soaked with lime juice. Then carefully clean the bottom/inside part of your eyelids and tear ducts. TRY NOT TO TOUCH THE EYEBALL. Touching the eyeball is not bad, but it will just sting less.
Pace & brace yourself, close your eyes as I know it will sting, take breaks and calm the sting with warm-water-moist soft towel.
Repeat step 5 using a new Q-tip at least 3 more times within 10 minutes.
IMPORTANT: Always discard the used Q-tip and DO NOT rub the lime with a used Q-tip!
Once you're done with the above, squeeze 2 drops of Visine-A and wait about 10 minutes.
(Optional) To reduce the puffy eyes, I use cotton pads soaked with Witch Hazel over closed eyes for about 10 to 15 minutes.
You'll notice the pain was worth experiencing as the results will be instant.
I normally perform the above 3 times a day. Once in the morning, at noon and before going to sleep, in order to speed up the cure.
I gave this remedy 5 stars (about the same amount of stars I see when the lime gets in contact with the infected area!!!)
Hope this helps you too!
ps. I wrote this article after just performing the above as I currently have "pink eye" and once again, it worked!!!

Milk and Honey cure can make it WORSE
Anonymous in Anytown, AT 55555 -
I tried the milk and honey remedy last night, and by this morning I was so much worse. I went to the Doctor and they told me that if it's a viral form Pink Eye, or a bacterial form of Pink Eye, you make it worse because bacteria grows rapid in sugar, and milk and honey are full of sugar. You should not use this method becuase you can make it MUCH, MUCH worse. I now have to have a antibiotic drops every 2 hours.
Also I read a remedy for Apple cider vinegar. Do not use...the acidic nature of this can make you go blind.
Never try home remedies with your eyes. You can cause a lot of damage very easy.
Make sure you research these remedies before you try them. I sure wish I did.

Milk, Honey, and Baby Shampoo
ChocolateAndMathDon'tMix in IHateMathTown, USA -
Okay, so, I have Pink Eye. I woke up today with gunk on my eye and my mom said "Yup,you've got Pink Eye. Keep a pack of hand sanitizer nearby and clean the doors with it after you use them." Makes sense because my lil sis has it and we share a room. Last time I had it we used breast milk and it knocked that suckka out! Unfortunatly the baby is now weaned so I came here for a solution.
I saw Mrs. Delilah's remedy about Milk and Honey and the Hawaii Lady about Baby Shampoo so I combined it:
1. Wash your eye out with Baby Shampoo, make sure you get the tear ducts, eyelashes, and around the eye as much as possible. If you only have one infected eye, do it with both anyway. Make sure you so it with separate cloths so you don't infect the other eye.
2. Mix the same amount of honey and milk (SoyMilk and AlmondMilk work just as well) in a cup or bowl (i.e. 1 TBSP Milk and 1 TBSP Honey. Mix it realy well so that it's a sort of tan or beige liquid. You do not want honey clumps in that mixture.
3. Take the standard cottonball (q-tips work too, though not as well because they don't drip. Dip into the mixture and squeeze drop into the eye. It'll sting just about the same as if you had poked your eye. I'd say do this every half hour (everything, shampoo cleanse and milk & honey). Leave the honey and milk in your eye until the next washing. The relief is INSTANT, your eyes might look a little redder at first but that's because they're thinking "What the heck? There's HONEY in me!"
Tip: The remedy above should clear you up by the next day. The most it should take is three days.
Another Tip: You can actually get Pink Eye from substances getting in your eye (i.e. Sawdust, I got mascara in my eye) In that case, wash out your eye with water or Baby Shampoo and water every hour or half hour.

Squenching eyes together successful in temporary relief
I will not touch my eyes, but I will squench them in Massachusetts -
Begin by finding a spot on the wall. Stare at this spot for five seconds. Then, focusing on your eye muscles, squench your eyes shut as tightly as possible without breaking a blood vessel. Continue squenching for 15 second intervals. This squenches out the goo and serves as a comforting placebo.
