Ginger for Acid Reflux
Jocylen M. in Maryland -
I'm surprised no one has mentioned ginger in these comments for relief of acid reflux.
My reflux became really bad when I stopped hormone replacement therapy. Acid suppressing drugs worked great but after 2 months I couldn't stop them without heartburn recurring.
One night I took some coworkers to dinner at a Korean style restaurant. Someone ordered persimmon punch, a concentrated cinnamon ginger drink. A few sips later, I felt fantastic.
After 1 month of adding about 3 tablespoons of the cinnamon-ginger drink to my tea in the morning and night, my low density lipoprotein cholesterol levels had dropped 30 points, and the heartburn was under control.
Unfortunately the cinnamon ginger tea has sugar in it, so a simpler alternative is to add a piece of candied ginger to your tea.
Ginger is amazing for heartburn and the Chinese have used it for centuries for motion sickness.
Thanks
Jocylen M.
